Position Summary:

Operates CNC lathes, Swiss, and CNC Mills, as well as manual equipment with some guidance and direction.

Primary Duties:

• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, with some input from supervision to understand dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

• Sets up, selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories , and materials for various manual machine tools with direction from lead person or other personnel for efficient component manufacture.

• Starts and observes machines operation to detect malfunctions or out-of- tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required with some supervision

• Operates CNC, Swiss and machines per instructions, setup sheet, and program information with input from others.

• Verifies performance of machine tool and component manufacture prior to implementing full automatic operation with some direction from the supervision if necessary.

• Ability to operate and verify the performance or various inspection equipment necessary to perform manufacturing processes with some direction and supervision.

• High school diploma

• 3-5 years machining experience in set up, and operation, of CNC, Manual, and Swiss type machine tools.

• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

• Working knowledge of tool grinding wheels, manual lathes and CNC mills.

• Knowledge of measuring equipment, wenches, general complement of tools and their use.

• Knowledge of machinability of various materials.
